Lucious BBQ Tandoori Lamb Chops or Chicken

Ingredients

  • 8 Lamb Chops or Chicken pieces (chicken thighs on the bone work well)

  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup cream (or just add extra yogurt)

  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • One 3-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated (use cheese grater)

  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon malt vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin

  • 1 tablespoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

How to cook

  • Cut a few 1/4-inch-deep slashes in each lamb chop (dont need to do this for chicken)

  • In a large bowl, whisk the yogurt with the cream, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, malt vinegar, garam masala, cumin, paprika, cayenne, nutmeg and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  • Cover the meat with the marinade, cover and refrigerate overnight.

  • Light a grill (BBQ) or put an oven n at 200 oC.

  • Cook for 10 minutes each side (or until brown on one side) until well browned.
