Yellow Five Bean Rice

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (150 ml) of basmati or jasmine rice

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric

  • 1 1/2 cup (300 ml) water

  • 1 can of bean salad (in brine or water)

  • splash of lemon juice

How to cook

  • Put the dry rice in a saucepan and mix with the turmeric powder.

  • Add the water

  • Place on medium heat with lid on saucepan until the water starts to simmer

  • turn down heat until no more water is covering the rice (but still wet)

  • Turn off the heat and add the bean salad to the rice.

  • Replace lid and wait for 10 mins
